.

Loosely inspired by the life and work of the South Mato Grosso guitarist Helena Meirelles. The backbone of this piece is the arid memory of the cerrado, the fleeting moments of a story tied to bare feet on the earth—sometimes dry, sometimes drenched—shrapnel from a stray bullet in a mother’s chest, a grandmother’s cigar and deck of cards, and Guarani songs. A fictional choreographic work that does not seek to pay tribute but rather to explode nostalgias.
