Mariana Taques works as a dance artist. She was born in 1987 in Vilhena-RO and currently resides and works in São Paulo. She graduated in Veterinary Medicine from UEM (State University of Maringá) in 2012 and completed a degree in Humor at SP Escola de Teatro in 2014. From 2014 to 2016, she studied at the Escola Livre de Teatro de Santo André (ELT). Between 2016 and 2020, she deepened her dance training, focusing on somatic education, contact improvisation, body awareness, scenic improvisation, and clown mask at the "Espaço," a studio for body research led by dancer and choreographer Diogo Granato. From 2017 to 2022, she worked with Mais+ Companhia and currently collaborates as a performer-creator with the dance group PARADISAEIDAE, directed by Diogo Granato. Since 2019, she has been a performer in the Núcleo Improvisação em Contato, directed by Ricardo Neves. She has also been a performer for the Dance Cinematic Nucleus, led by Maristela Estrela and Mariana Sucupira, since 2017, and was part of the Plataforma Bóia project, directed by Ilana Elkis, from 2019 to 2020. In 2014, she began collaborating with Danilo Alves as a parkour practitioner. Together, they have performed at advertising events and taught parkour classes for children, teenagers, and adults. Their parkour work led to the creation of the children’s play Dorotéia by Miló Martins in 2019.In partnership with dancer Manuela Aranguibel, she created the solo work Helena in 2022, exploring narrative possibilities through the dramaturgy of the moving body. In 2023, she co-created the work AQUI with Ruy Carvalho. In 2024, Mariana participated as a performer-creator in the piece Ruído Vermelho by Cia E2 ao Quadrado, directed by Eliana de Santana and Hernandes de Oliveira. She also took part as a performer-creator in the performance Bolero de Ravel with the group GRUA.
